Mosgaard Port Wine Cask Whisky is made from local organic Danish barley malt, which is malted according to our specifications and brewed according to our own methods which are optimized to produce sweetness, softness and fruit notes - the taste of Funen Single Malt Whisky.

We have waited longingly to be able to present our Port Wine Cask, which is probably the only whisky in the world that is aged exactly like this. We have converted old Port wine casks into our small 50 liter casks, and in the casks we have mixed staves from Ruby casks and Tawny casks. This means that we get a balance of the vinousness from Ruby and the spicier sweetness from Tawny and thus have been able to store the whisky for the entire period for approx. 4 years in port casks - it has been an experiment which we must say has been completely successful as this version has been awarded a nice Silver medal at the World Whiskies Awards 2021, Gold medal at BISC 2020 with 94 points
